What is onwrite?

onwrite is a place to write and publish a blog. You write a post, pick a theme, and publish it to a real web address — all in one app.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. onwrite is made for writers. If you can use a text editor, you can use onwrite.

How do I sign in? Is there a password?

There is no password. You sign in with your email: we send a 6-digit code, you enter it, and you are in.

Is my blog online right away?

Your blog address is ready the moment you sign up, at yourname.onwrite.app. A post goes public as soon as you publish it.

Writing & publishing

Where do I write my posts?

In the editor — the first thing you see after signing in. Give the post a title and start typing.

Are my drafts saved automatically?

Yes. Drafts save as you write, so there is no save button to remember.

Can I add images?

Yes. You can upload your own images or search free photos from Unsplash without leaving the editor.

Do I get an RSS feed?

Yes — every blog gets an RSS feed automatically, so readers can follow you in their favorite reader.

Will my blog show up on Google?

onwrite adds the basics search engines look for — a sitemap, clean pages, and social preview cards — automatically. When and how you rank is still up to Google.

Can I see how a post will look when I share it?

Yes. Post settings include a share preview of the link card, plus the exact meta tags we publish for that post, so you can check the title, description, and image before you post it anywhere.

Can I write in Portuguese?

Yes. onwrite is available in English and Brazilian Portuguese, and your public blog follows the language on your account — dates, reading times, and the wording each theme supplies are translated to match.

Why isn’t my post showing up on Discover?

Discover is a reading feed, so it only lists posts of about 300 words or more, and only once we can tell what language a post is written in. Shorter posts are not hidden — they are live on your blog, in your RSS feed and in your sitemap exactly as always. The bar only decides what we put in front of readers who came to browse rather than to read you specifically. If a post is long enough and still missing, publish it again: the check runs when you publish.

Themes

Can I change how my blog looks?

Yes. There are 21 handcrafted themes — quiet journals, bold magazines, developer logs, and photo-first designs — and you apply one in a click. Every theme is included on every plan.

Will changing a theme affect my posts?

No. A theme only changes the look of your site. Your posts stay exactly as you wrote them, and you can switch themes anytime.

Can I publish photos, not just posts?

Yes. Upload images to your gallery, and the photo-first themes turn them into a picture wall on your site alongside your writing.

Plans & billing

Can I try onwrite before paying?

Yes. New accounts get a 14-day trial with no card required for writing, themes, and publishing. Subscriber collection and email sending start after you subscribe. Choose a paid plan to keep publishing after the trial. Existing accounts that already had Free keep their legacy Free access.

What do paid plans add?

Writer includes one blog, 1,000 subscribers, and 10,000 email sends per month. Pro raises that to 3 blogs, 5,000 subscribers, and 50,000 email sends per month. Both plans include a custom domain and unlimited posts. See the pricing page.

Does a paid plan remove the “Made with onwrite” badge?

On Writer the corner badge is gone — what stays is a small “Made with onwrite” credit in your site's footer, styled to match your theme. Pro carries no onwrite branding at all.

Can I have more than one blog?

Writer includes one blog. Pro includes up to 3 blogs. Each blog is a separate site with its own address, theme, posts, and newsletter.

What happens to my extra blogs if I downgrade?

Nothing is deleted. You keep every blog and everything you wrote, but only as many blogs stay published as the new plan allows — the oldest ones stay live, and the rest go private until you upgrade again.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. New accounts can write, choose a theme, and publish for 14 days, and we do not ask for a card to start. Subscriber collection and email sending start on a paid plan.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on the paid plans. Add your domain in your site settings and point your DNS to onwrite; we handle the secure HTTPS setup.

How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?

You can cancel anytime in your billing settings and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. For refunds, see our Refunds & Cancellation Policy.

Account & data

Can I export my content?

Yes. You can download your whole workspace — profile, settings, posts, and tags — as a JSON file from your settings, anytime.

What happens if I delete my account?

Your public site goes offline and your data is permanently deleted after a short grace period. Export anything you want to keep first.

Who can see my drafts?

Only you. Drafts stay private until you choose to publish them.
